Getting started
The bare minimum to start working with Mi Finca: sign in, pick and configure the farm, register the first animal and read the home panel.
Log in with your account (email or Google). Your user is linked to the farm that invited you or that you created.
Choose your farm
If you work with several farms, select the active one from the selector in the side menu. Everything you record belongs to the active farm.
Set up the farm
In Settings, complete the basic and production values (milkings per day, schedules, currency, prices). The following modules use these values.
Register your first animal
In Animals → New animal: name, purpose, sex and entry date are the essentials. The ear tag can be generated automatically.
Read the home dashboard
The home (/dashboard) answers at a glance how the milk is going, how the money is going, and what needs doing today, always current month against the previous one. At the top, four numbers: milk this month, net result, sales income, and cheese cost per kilo. Below, the Pending list gathers upcoming calvings and dry-offs, expected heats, health tasks, animals under milk or meat withdrawal, low or expiring stock, and sustained production drops in one place — each row opens the animal or module it belongs to directly. To the side, two tables summarize the top producers and the margin per product.
I don’t see the save button — why?
Your role does not have edit permission on that screen. Ask the farm’s owner or administrator for access.
Can I use Mi Finca from my phone?
Yes, the web application adapts to the phone. A dedicated mobile app (with offline mode) is on the future roadmap.
Why does a home number show as «—»?
For one of three reasons. There may not be enough data for that calculation yet (a month that just started, for example). There may be items with no price on file — a cheese batch, a purchase, or a product missing a cost — and the system never invents a number it does not have. And if your role lacks permission for that module, the card simply does not appear on the dashboard, rather than showing as «—». To load a whole farm from scratch, follow the «Getting your farm up and running» chapter.
Where can I see what changed in Mi Finca?
In What’s new, in the side menu. A colored dot tells you when there is a release you have not seen yet, and when it brings new features a notice also appears once when you sign in. Closing it marks them as seen. The full release history is on the What’s new page of this manual.
