Terms and conditions
Version 1.1 · Updated October 5, 2026 · Text under legal review
These terms govern the use of Mi Finca, the management software for dairy and cheese farms offered at mi-finca.com. By creating a farm or using the service you accept them. Version 1.1, under legal review: they may change; we will notify you by e-mail at least 15 days in advance.
1. The service
Mi Finca is an online service ("software as a service") to record and consult a farm’s operational information: animals, health, reproduction, milking, nutrition, inventory, cheesemaking, sales and finance. It is accessed from the browser at app.mi-finca.com with a user account.
The service is provided by Roberto Chavarría, Costa Rica ("Mi Finca", "we"). Contact: soporte@mi-finca.com.
2. Account and users
Each farm has an owner, who is responsible for the users they invite and for their use of the service. Credentials are personal; the owner must remove access from anyone who stops working at the farm.
You must be of legal age and able to contract on behalf of the farm.
3. Plan, trial and payment
The current plan, its price, the users it includes, the price of each additional user and what it includes are at mi-finca.com/en/pricing. The free trial lasts 14 days, requires no card and ends without charge if no plan is contracted.
Payment is made by bank transfer or SINPE Móvil against the details we send when the trial or the paid period ends. The plan activates on receipt of payment and covers the paid period (one month or one year). Dollar prices are the reference; colones are charged at the fixed rate published on the pricing page. Prices exclude VAT.
- Additional users: each user beyond those included adds the additional-user price published on the pricing page to the subscription, on the same billing period as the plan.
- No refunds for periods already paid, unless the service is unavailable for reasons attributable to us for more than 7 consecutive days.
4. Suspension for non-payment
If no payment is recorded when the paid period ends, we notify you by e-mail and grant a 10-day grace period. After it, the farm is paused: its users cannot sign in, but the data is kept. Once the payment is recorded, access returns immediately.
5. Your data is yours
The data you record in Mi Finca — animals, production, sales, finance — belongs to the farm. We only process it to provide the service, under the privacy policy. You can export it at any time.
If you cancel, we keep the data for 90 days in case you decide to return; after that it is permanently deleted, except what the law requires us to keep.
6. Acceptable use
The service may not be used for illegal purposes, to try to access other farms’ data, to overload or attack the system, or to resell access. We may suspend an account that breaches this, with notice unless urgent.
7. Availability and support
We work to keep the service continuously available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability: there may be maintenance, provider failures or connectivity issues. We publish what’s new in each version at mi-finca.com/en/changelog.
Support is provided by e-mail (soporte@mi-finca.com) and via WhatsApp, on Costa Rican business days.
8. Liability
Mi Finca is a recording and decision-support tool. Decisions about animals, treatments, withdrawal periods and finances belong to the farm and its professionals. Our total liability towards you is limited to the amount paid for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to it.
9. Intellectual property
The software, the Mi Finca brand and the content of the site and the manual are ours. You receive a non-exclusive licence to use them while you have an active plan or a running trial.
10. Cancellation
You can cancel at any time by writing to soporte@mi-finca.com; the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We may terminate the service with 30 days’ notice, or immediately for a serious breach.
11. Law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. Any dispute will be resolved before the courts of Costa Rica, after first attempting a direct written settlement.
