Planned feeding and an inventory that adds up

Define how much each group eats — calves, heifers, dry, pre-calving, lactating — and record the day’s consumption in one tap. Everything deducts from the same inventory where medication, cheesemaking supplies and straws live.

Mi Finca feeding plans by group, with the ration of each feed item

Livestock feeding and farm inventory

Concentrate is one of a dairy farm’s biggest costs and one of the hardest to follow. Mi Finca sorts the herd into feeding groups by each animal’s status, sets how much each group gets and records what was actually fed, so the cost of feeding stops being a guess.

The same inventory holds everything the farm buys: feed, salts, medication, semen straws, cheesemaking supplies and pasture materials, grouped by area. Every purchase, use and adjustment is recorded, stock is computed for you and the system warns you when something is running low.

What your farm gains

  • Plans per group

Fixed ration per head, per litres produced or ad lib; each cow’s group is derived from her status.

  • One inventory for everything

Purchases, adjustments and consumption in one ledger; stock is computed, never estimated, and warns when it runs low.

  • Real feed cost

What it costs to feed each group and how many litres come out per kilo of feed.

How it works

  1. 1

    Load the inventory

Feed, minerals, medication, rennet and the rest with their unit and purchase price.

  2. 2

    Define the plans

One ration per nutritional group; the suggestion shows in the milking grid.

  3. 3

    Record consumption

Per group or per cow; inventory and cost update on their own.

Frequently asked questions

Does the inventory block when there is no stock?

No. The operational record always goes through; stock can go negative and is fixed with a purchase or an adjustment.

Can consumption be recorded from the milking?

Yes. The milking grid suggests feed per cow and one button records feeding for the whole shift.

How is the unit cost computed?

Weighted average of the recorded purchases; an item with no priced purchase shows its cost as unknown instead of inventing a zero.

How do I know how many litres each kilo of concentrate gives me?

The nutrition reports cross recorded feed use with milk production and show litres per kilo of concentrate, along with the feeding cost of each group.

Can I record purchases by the sack or container?

Yes. Each purchase carries a quantity and a cost, and can be entered by sack or container with its content; from that Mi Finca computes each item’s average cost.
